I use sharpie markers and color the stamp, then imprint it. :-)

My favorite multi-colored stamp pads are called "Adirondack," Dye Ink
Pad. It's one felt pad, not individual blocks, so the colors blend
together. They come in three different color schemes. I can clean my
stamps with water or a wet wipe. The company name on the back is
Ranger, Tinton Falls, NJ (made in USA!)

We use LePlume brand pens that we buy at Michael's Crafts for a couple
dollars apiece or in sets for about $20. (Hint: in big Sunday papers every other
Sunday or so, Michael's includes a 40% off coupon in it's color ad.)
We take the stamp and use 3-4 colors of pens to color it depending on what
the picture is, then 'huff' on the stamp to remoisten the inks and stamp in.
Another way is to stamp in solid black, let dry on your page then use colored
pens to color in the spaces.
Sure makes for pretty books!

Hi, I also like the "Adirondack" dye pads but have also been using the Journalers recently put out by "Stampin' Up!" a rubber stamp company of which I'm a independet Demonstrator for. They come in 13 different colors (may be adding more in the next Catalog, due out in July). They are dual tip and dye based. I recently did a "stampin'" party with just letterboxers in attendance and sold a lot of them. They are only $2.95 each plus S&T. You can view them on the SU! web site: www.stampinup.com and then contact me if you'd like to order them--I can have them sent anywere in the U.S.
My favorite colors are Ballet Blue, Old Olive & lovely lilac.

Ranger produces a number of products with the Adirondack label but
the Adirondack ink pads are listed as Earthtones, except for the
Adirondack Rainbow ink pad:
http://www.rangerink.com/product_adirondackrainbow.html
I love the effect of the rainbow pad.
I bought a multi-colored ink pad (purple to blue to maroon) and then
tried to carve a stamp to fit the colors. Not as easy as I thought.
That's when I carved my FedEx logo stamp.
